I’ve heard that Tiger Woods’ workout routine is intense. Not only does he work the upper body but he focuses largely on keeping his legs in shape. More and more golfers are having to start work out routines to keep up with the competition!

The grip is the foundation of your golf swing and developing the right grip is critical to your success in hitting the ball farther and straighter. There are many different grips out there that you can use.

Your dad might remember Ange’s “understudy”, a guy by the name of Larry Zimmerman. “Zimmy” is still there, now the superintendent himself. Those of us who remember are grateful for Ange and the work he did at Good Park. There should be a placque at least to commemorate him there.
April 18th, 2009 at 10:09 pm
yes, my dad tells me stories all the time about his hard fights to make the club better.
April 19th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
Yeah, I was just kidding about you being banned. I knew Ange fairly well. He was the superintendent. You should know that Good Park was then and still is the finest public course in Akron. I was a junior golfer when I knew him. He was extra-nice to us young boys learning the game in the 1970′s. You were named after a good man, Ange.

The two best golfers of all time–Tiger and Jack–use tons of leg drive. This is the problem with golf pro’s nowadays. If you’re a very handsy player with upper-body strength, you want little leg drive, like Arnold Palmer. If you’re weak in the hands like Jack, you want tons of leg drive. Tiger is a mixture of both, however he is more toward the leg-drive swing in my opinion. The golf swing is not a “one size fits all” type of thing. And the swing hasn’t changed in 100 years.

No your true man, had one dude at my golfcamp doing exactly that thing, opening your hips that much will indeed couse a reverse pivot!

Ignore this attempt at instruction…This guy doesn’t use his legs correctly… look at how he twists his hips to allow a backswing….that is not a reliable, repeatable movement….such a movement results in the straightening of the right leg…consequently altering dynamic posture or creating a reverse pivot… hence why the guy never looks to make a full shoulder turn as he would not be able to get back to the ball without coming over the top!
