He is talking about a fundemental element of the golf swing known as the “cock down”. He knows what he is talking about.

golf is hard itt’s all skill. But, u don’t need athleticism . It show s especially when tiger woods won a huge tournament with like a broken leg. I will admit hough that tiger woods is a great athlete but not compared to other athletes

RE Swinger or Hitter’s Swing: Whether for irons or driver, it is always the best to stick to one type. Shouldn’t get them mixed up, otherwise it will create inconsistancy in the swing.

ynot1688: is it possible to be in between?
With my irons, I think I’m a swinger. With my driver, a hitter. I will do more research on what you mentioned. Thanks for clarifying.

I am referring to 2 different styles of swinging the golf club. And it should not be specifically categorized to any certain group of golfers. It’s simply just the style of one’s golf swing. There are both “swingers” and “hitters” on tour. A common example of a swinger would be Ernie Els and a hitter would be John Daly. Please search the internet, there are actually some good info that you can find out about these 2 types swings. Perhaps it’ll also help you find out which type of golfer you are.

ynot1688: When you refer to hitters, you are refer to the long drive competitors right? That’s what I assume you are referring to. Swingers would be tour players right? If you were implying something else, please clarify.

I think we are talking about a different thing here.

You people need to read some books, and do some learning, no PRO will ever try to do he whip effect, it happens automatically, and a begginer is dead after this drill!

ynot1688: I disagree. It works for folks who want to drive their balls longer. It is an advantage over your opponent. I simply disagree witht the last part of the vid where he says move your body forward. He is referring to lateral movement of the hips but beginners will interpret this as actually moving the body forward which will cause the swing to no longer be on plane and result in slices or hooks.

davisrv1g: I would not give the advice he gave to beginners. I would give to folks who are looking for more power and has a solid swing. What he explains makes perfect sense and it works. Watch Tiger when he hits his drives, his hips rotate forward while his shoulders are still rotating back. Hence the whip effect and the long shot. Keeping it straight is simply a matter of proper grip, correct stance and position through the swing. I think it’s great advice.

This drill works better for hitter not for swingers.

Much rather tell people 4 fundamentals of a golf swing if you know what those are…
April 3rd, 2009 at 4:56 pm
Are you fucking kidding me????You can t practise this, it will kill your swing, the key is to finish your backswing before you start down, i know that many best players in the world start the transition while the club is still going back, but that happens naturally, they have never practised it, so giving advices like this to people is so stupid…unbelievable, you have no clue about a solid golf swing:)

hey ive been to this driving range!!im trying to improve my driver swing but it get slices and lose power.can anyone chek out my swing and provide tips?much appreciated

a suttle body shift is ok, The real trick the pros use is learning how to hold the power V till the exact moment to release your club, this will generate the power, ben hogan wasnt a big man and he held this V to the max, sergio garcia does it the best of todays players, to much sliding like this guy,i hope your wind pipes are good, four is gonna be screamed alot!!!!
